The VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope took a trip to Florida last week for the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference. Edward Thomas, RF System Lab Sales Consultant, was on site at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL to present the VJ-ADV and network with aviation maintenance professionals. We had a chance to speak with Edward Thomas about his experience at the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference, and he had nothing but complimentary things to say.
Thomas started off by commenting that one of the best parts about the conference is that the attendees are always extremely knowledgeable about their industry, which means they also have a high level of familiarity with borescopes. He really enjoys being able to discuss the numerous features offered on the VJ-ADV models at a more detailed and in-depth level.
One of Thomas’s favorite events at the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference was the party at Splitsville, sponsored by Gulfstream. He said that, in addition to free drinks, food and bowling, this party was a unique and fun way to meet other exhibitors and attendees. Everyone was randomly put on a bowling team, which allowed them to connect with one another in a more casual atmosphere.
A few notable connections that Thomas made at the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference included Embraer, a well-known and respected aircraft manufacturer, and Duncan Aviation. Duncan Aviation, one of the largest, family-owned maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities in the world, discussed with Thomas about how their Rapid Response team could benefit from the quality assurance and efficiency offered by a video borescope such as the VJ-ADV. Rapid Response teams are expert in-field technicians who offer engine and APU support and services. In the case of Duncan Aviation, the Rapid Response team is available 24/7 to troubleshoot for grounded aircrafts around the world.
If you were unable to test drive the VJ-Advance video borescope at NBAA Maintenance Management Conference, we would like to offer you a free trial. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the VJ-Advance line of video borescope in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.

The 2014 Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit, sponsored by the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) is bringing together the entire Army Aviation industry for a chance to connect and discuss solutions for War-fighters. The summit is taking place at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN on May 4-6, 2014.
The summit website notes that the 2014 Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit “will operate on four separate networking levels”: general sessions that include Soldier Award presentations and messages about leadership, an exhibit hall that provides the opportunity to meet hundreds of vendors (including RF System Lab), deep dive open meetings with relevant topics, and private one-on-one meetings with influential individuals.
Another exciting Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit announcement is that the proffer has been approved by the Department of the Army which, according to the website, “will allow over 175 key personnel from the Active Army, Army Reserve and National Guard who represent the operational, acquisition, Science & Technology (S&T) and Special Operations communities to attend.”
Joel Riling, VP of Government Programs at RF System Lab, is looking forward to exhibiting at the summit. He will be onsite to present the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope to attendees and show them how VJ-ADV features can exceed their expectations in the remote visual inspections (RVI) field. With its crisp image and video capture options, battery-operated versatility, and one-handed operation, the VJ-ADV is an excellent fit for the army aviation industry.
Stop by and see Joel Riling at the RF System Lab booth #911 starting on Sunday, May 4th for a chance to demo the groundbreaking VJ-ADV.

RF System Lab is excited to introduce its new and improved website. The new RF System Lab website was designed with the user in mind and has been created using the latest site design platform, allowing optimal presentation on all mobile devices and web browsers. Whether you’re viewing the site on a widescreen, a tablet or a smart phone, it will cater to your device so that you can easily access essential product information.
RF System Lab’s new site provides visitors a chance to effortlessly view product testimonials, borescope inspection photos, and detailed product descriptions and images. Another benefit of the site is the Success Stories page, which provides case studies and testimonials from satisfied RF System Lab customers. Categorized by industry and application to allow users to easily find the most relevant information, there are borescope case studies pertaining to: aviation/aerospace, automotive, industrial pumps, and more.
The new website provides a fresh, updated look and feel for all of the information from the previous site, in addition to a variety of new features. With the improved functionality and user-friendly navigation, visitors are able to search for anything from VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope product details to case studies with ease. Drop-down menus are clearly marked, and application menus include industry-related graphics to ensure that visitors efficiently find the information they’re seeking.
Another notable change to the Applications pages is that all descriptions have been modified to include even more industry-specific information, enabling current and potential borescope users to read exactly how the VJ-ADV can assist with the application that applies to their field. At the bottom of a number of application pages is a link to the relevant case study with VJ-ADV video borescope inspection photos, providing even more validation of the benefits of remote visual inspections (RVI).
In addition to the impressive attributes already listed, the new website’s homepage features the VJ-ADV video borescope with an animated distal tip designed to represent the joystick-controlled, 360 degree articulating camera available on all VJ-ADV models. Another addition to the RF System Lab homepage is the free demo unit button, which directs users to a brief form submission that allows them to request a free demo of the VJ-ADV video borescope without having to fill out endless pages of personal information.
Social icons for all of RF System Lab’s active networking platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Google+, and YouTube, are clearly displayed on all web pages, allowing visitors to reach out and connect with RF System Lab. Users will be quickly redirected to the social site of their choosing by just clicking the appropriate icon at the top of the page.
The new website is a true representation of RF System Lab’s capabilities, high quality products and commitment to customer service.

On April 30th and May 1st, you will find RF System Lab’s VP of Government Programs, Joel Riling, at the NDIA Global EOD Conference and Exhibition in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The conference is taking place at the Emerald Coast Convention Center, and this year’s theme is “Preserving Hard-won Gains; Building Capability and Sustaining Capacity”.
The event website states that the Global EOD conference strives to “facilitate contact and cooperation between industry and the EOD community with the goal of ensuring EOD forces have access to the ideas and technologies that originate in our nation’s industrial and academic base.” With keynote speakers Colonel Dean Meinert, USA and Mr. Thomas Dee, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy in addition to a conference full of events geared towards industry and EOD professionals, that goal seems very attainable.
Joel Riling and colleague Leland Browning, both retired military officers, will be exhibiting on behalf of RF System Lab at the Global EOD Conference. Riling will be onsite to provide demos of the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope as well as videoscope information to attendees. Having attended this conference in years past, Riling is looking forward to returning and notes that the Global EOD conference is a great fit for the VJ-ADV. “The ultra-lightweight and portable remote visual inspection system offers technicians world class imagery and intuitive operation. A fast growing favorite at conferences I’ve attended, the VJ-ADV exceeds expectations at an affordable cost,” comments Riling.
Joel Riling is excited about networking with EOD and industry professionals and showing them how they can benefit from the VJ-ADV. Visit him and demo the ground-breaking VJ-ADV at booth #307 starting at 9:00am on Wednesday, April 30th at the Global EOD Conference.
