The VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope is making a trip to Canada. More specifically, the VJ-ADV family of borescopes is headed to the American Helicopter Society International 70th Annual Forum and Technology Display (AHS Forum 70) in Montreal, Quebec. The conference, which promises to be “the biggest and best vertical flight technology conference in the world,” is taking place at the impressive Palais des congres de Montreal on May 20-22, 2014.

The AHS Forum 70 offers a variety of ways for attendees to expand their rotorcraft knowledge. Technical sessions on topics such as Aerodynamics and Operations,  a keynote address from Brigadier-General Christian Drouin, Deputy Commander Force Generation of the Royal Canadian Air Force, a Vertical Flight Foundation Cocktail Reception and Awards Banquet, and an MAV student competition are only a few of the events offered at the conference.

Edward Thomas, RF System Lab borescope expert, has his passport ready and is looking forward to providing demos of the VJ-ADV at the AHS Forum 70 for helicopter professionals. He is excited to show attendees how the VJ-ADV’s portable design is ideal for rotor-wing inspections.

Since helicopter turbine engines are located near the rotor blades, in order to perform any sort of maintenance on them, professionals usually have to climb up scaffolding or a ladder; this is where the features of the VJ-ADV are extremely beneficial. With its compact, portable, pistol-grip design and on demand power (the VJ-ADV video borescope simply requires AA batteries – no need to wait for it to charge or make sure there is an electrical outlet nearby), helicopter turbine inspections are completed with ease. Some satisfied rotorcraft customers include Boeing, Eurocopter of Canada as well as Turbomeca Engines – both leaders in helicopter engine maintenance.

You can demo the scope for yourself and meet Edward Thomas at the RF System Lab booth #327 starting on Tuesday, May 20th at 11:00am for a chance to demo the groundbreaking VJ-ADV.

The Regional Airline Association (RAA) Annual Convention will hit the big “39” this year, which is impressive by any event or trade show standard. RF System Lab is honored to exhibit and celebrate year number 39 at RAA 2014 on May 13-15 at the St. Louis Convention Center in St. Louis, Missouri. As the “exclusive industry trade show and Annual Meeting for the North American Regional Airlines and Supplier”, this is not an event that anyone will want to miss.

The event website provided a helpful list of top reasons to attend the RAA Annual Conference, so we picked out a few of our favorites to share.

-          Reconnect with existing customers and develop new business relationships.

-          Get up close and personal with some 1,400 top executives and aviation stakeholders

-          Meet personally and directly with Airline CEOs during the Airline CEO Exhibit Hall Walk-Thru

-          Communicate your company’s news and message through various RAA social media outlets – RF System Lab will be on Twitter throughout the conference. Connect with us at @RFSystemLabUS

-          Participate in the exclusive committee meetings for key airline, industry and regulatory decision makers.

-          Have fun (but that’s a given, right?)

RF System Lab will have not one, but two borescope experts on site to provide attendees with the most up to date Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) news, as well as demonstrate all of the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope’s abilities. Edward Thomas and J. St. John are looking forward to meeting airline industry leaders and showing interested people how the VJ-ADV can help them execute aviation maintenance and inspections with efficiency and confidence.

Don’t miss your chance to meet both Edward Thomas and J. St. John at the RF System Lab booth #1314 starting on Tuesday, May 13th at 3:00pm for a chance to demo the groundbreaking VJ-ADV.

AUVSI Unmanned Systems 2014 is the next stop for the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope. This conference is taking place May 12-15 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The conference promises to bring together renowned thought leaders in the robotics/aerial robotics industry – RF System Lab is looking forward to being one of them.

After perusing the AUVSI Unmanned Systems website, we have come up with our list of the top five items to get excited about.

  1. A group of very impressive keynote speakers who are sure to give impactful and interesting speeches. This year’s speakers include Mike Walsh, best-selling author of FUTURETAINMENT and CEO of Tomorrow, an innovative research lab, Louis Mead Treadwell II, Lieutenant Governor of Alaska, Frank LoBiondo, U.S. Congressman (R-N.J.), Dr. Vijay Kumar, UPS Foundation Professor, School of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Pennsylvania.
  2. Space Florida is hosting an unmanned air and ground systems demo on Sunday. The all-day demo is titled the 2014 Unmanned Systems Demonstration and focuses on value of unmanned systems in non-defense commercial and civil applications.
  3. Can’t get enough demos? Neither can we. Luckily there will be an additional demo on the AUVSI Unmanned Systems show floor from Tuesday-Thursday called “Robots in Action” for attendees and exhibitors viewing pleasure.
  4. The “Beyond the Booth Showcase,” which will show off the most recent product releases and partnership opportunities from companies that are exhibiting. This will also be taking place on the exhibit floor, making it easily accessible.
  5. The chance for RF System Lab VP of Government Programs, Joel Riling and his friend and associate Leland Browning to network with robotics professionals and converse about issues in the unmanned systems industry.

The VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope took a trip to Florida last week for the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference. Edward Thomas, RF System Lab Sales Consultant, was on site at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL to present the VJ-ADV and network with aviation maintenance professionals. We had a chance to speak with Edward Thomas about his experience at the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference, and he had nothing but complimentary things to say.

NBAA Maintenance Management Conference Borescope

Edward Thomas presents the VJ-Advance video borescope to attendees at the 2014 NBAA Maintenance Management Conference.

Thomas started off by commenting that one of the best parts about the conference is that the attendees are always extremely knowledgeable about their industry, which means they also have a high level of familiarity with borescopes. He really enjoys being able to discuss the numerous features offered on the VJ-ADV models at a more detailed and in-depth level.

One of Thomas’s favorite events at the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference was the party at Splitsville, sponsored by Gulfstream. He said that, in addition to free drinks, food and bowling, this party was a unique and fun way to meet other exhibitors and attendees. Everyone was randomly put on a bowling team, which allowed them to connect with one another in a more casual atmosphere.

A few notable connections that Thomas made at the NBAA Maintenance Management Conference included Embraer, a well-known and respected aircraft manufacturer, and Duncan Aviation. Duncan Aviation, one of the largest, family-owned maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities in the world, discussed with Thomas about how their Rapid Response team could benefit from the quality assurance and efficiency offered by a video borescope such as the VJ-ADV. Rapid Response teams are expert in-field technicians who offer engine and APU support and services. In the case of Duncan Aviation, the Rapid Response team is available 24/7 to troubleshoot for grounded aircrafts around the world.

If you were unable to test drive the VJ-Advance video borescope at NBAA Maintenance Management Conference, we would like to offer you a free trial. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the VJ-Advance line of video borescope in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.
