The second quarter of 2015 is off to a good start for RF System Lab. We are proud to announce a group of impressive companies from a variety of industries as their latest VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) borescope customers. A few of the industries represented below include aviation, power generation, automotive, and casting.
Representing our newest customers in the aviation industry are Ryan Air and Rotortech Services. Ryan Air, an Alaska Bush carrier that specializes in air cargo shipping, required an inspection camera for PT6 turbine inspections on fixed-wing aircraft. They selected the portable VJ-ADV because of its ability to operate fully in rugged conditions and extremely low temperatures. Rotortech Services, located in the much warmer Palm Beach, Florida, provides state-of-the-art maintenance and repair services to helicopters. They took advantage of our free demo program after visiting RF System Lab’s booth at this year’s HAI Heli Expo. Rotortech utilizes the VJ-ADV for Turbomeca Arriel inspections on Airbus rotorcraft. The extreme portability of the AA-battery powered VJ-ADV, weighing in at less than 2lbs, was a big factor in Rotortech’s purchasing decision.
Consolidated Edison (Con Edison) is a new VJ-Advance video borescope user in the power generation industry. Con Edison, one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the United States, was looking for a high-quality tool to complete internal transformer inspections. The power company selected the 6.9mm diameter VJ-Advance video borescope for their routine internal RVI of their transformer generators. Con Edison needed to complete these routine inspections with oil still present in the transformers, which is why they selected the VJ-ADV, whose sturdy insertion tube can be submerged and still articulate without issue.
We at RF System Lab are proud to have an important member of the automotive industry, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA Group). FCA Group, an international auto group that is a merger of Fiat and Chrysler, needed a video borescope to inspect the body-side box chambers on the vehicles they manufacture. They had been using a snap-on borescope but were looking to invest in a higher quality tool that featured precise articulation. RF System Lab is grateful that FCA Group made the investment in the VJ-ADV to complete future inspections.
Joining our list of clients in the casting industry is Fredon Corporation. Fredon Corporation, a company that specializes in intricate parts, assemblies, and materials, was looking for the best inspection camera for ensuring the complete removal of burrs and residual sand. The super-slim 3.9mm VJ-ADV was able to smoothly and efficiently navigate through critical core passageways to check for any signs of FOD, which made Fredon’s purchase decision an easy one.
We would like to thank these clients, as well as all other companies that became customers at the start of the second quarter. If you would like to demo the VJ-Advance video borescope, you can sign up for a no-cost, no-obligation demo program. For more information on RF System Lab, please visit our website or call 855-787-6966 to speak with one of our borescope experts about your specific internal inspection needs.

Electric Power 2015 took place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL last month. While it is not one of the largest tradeshows that RF System Lab attends, this year’s exhibit hall was packed full of power gen professionals – both attendees and exhibitors.
RF System Lab’s Borescope Expert, Jess Kuznicki, was onsite presenting the VJ-Advance video borescope at booth #346 and had excellent feedback about this year’s show. He got the chance to connect with many end users and was happy to report that while the show is called “Electric Power,” it is a popular show for gas & nuclear power professionals as well. He was able to catch up with one of our current customers, including the representative from Duke Energy.
Another highlight from thsi year’s show was the networking event put on by Industrial Info at The Capital Grille, which was a great chance to chat with other exhibitors and attendees in a less structured setting. The complimentary meal and beverages were a nice way to end a busy day on the tradeshow floor.
If you were unable visit RF System Lab’s booth at Electric Power to test out the VJ-Advance video borescope, we’d like to offer you a chance to try out the VJ-Advance at your own facility — for free! Click here to learn more about our no cost, no obligation demo program, or call (231) 943-1171 to speak with one of our borescope experts about your RVI needs.
We’ll see you at Electric Power 2016!
Next week, two Power-Generation shows take place in the Midwest: Reliable Plant and Electric Power. RF System Lab is excited to be exhibiting among renowned companies from all over the world at both of these shows; showcasing the VJ-Advance video borescope to power-gen professionals.
Reliable Plant, which offers attendees the ability to gain insight in multiple areas of industrial lubrication, oil analysis and reliability, is taking place at the Cleveland Convention Center in Cleveland, OH on April 21-23, 2015. The conference offers workshops, learning sessions, networking nights, and an exhibit hall packed with the latest technologies in power generation. Chad Parker, RF System Lab Sales Consultant, will be representing us at booth #822. He will be showing maintenance and reliability experts how the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope is an ideal tool for preventative and corrective maintenance.
Meanwhile, Electric Power will be taking place April 21-23, 2015 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. This will be RF System Lab’s second year at Electric Power, which promises to bring together more power generators in one place than any other conference & exhibition. Jess Kuznicki, RF System Lab borescope expert, will be presenting the VJ-Advance video borescope to power professionals at booth #346. Interested attendees can test out the ergonomic VJ-Advance and learn more about how adding internal inspections to a quality check-list can save their company time and money by helping to avoid unplanned outages.
We’re looking forward to exhibiting at both Reliable Plant and Electric Power. If you’ll be at either of these shows, make sure to stop by the RF System Lab booth to learn more about enhancing your preventative and corrective maintenance efforts with remote visual inspection.

RF System Lab is proud to announce big names in multiple industries that recently invested in the VJ-ADV. New customers include companies from industries such as aviation, power generation, railway, and chemical manufacturing.
The first of RF System Lab’s newest customers comes from the aviation industry. Critical Care Medflight, a certified air ambulance service provider, was sold on the VJ-ADV after an unpleasant experience with a competitor’s scope. Critical Care Medflight required a repair on their previous borescope, but when they found out that the service would cost them almost as much money as the tool itself, they decided to purchase a VJ-ADV instead. Our low-cost of ownership is just one of the reasons that Critical Care Medflight invested in the articulating VJ-ADV.
Another new VJ-Advance video borescope user is Sempra, a leader in power generation. Sempra, named one of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” by Fortune for 2015, purchased two VJ-Advance articulating video borescopes for two very different applications. The purchase included a 5m VJ-ADV, its long length made it perfect for piping inspections, and a 1.5m VJ-ADV, which will be used for inspecting cylinders on compressors. We are grateful to be able to call this industry leader one of their new clients.
Representing the Railway industry is GBW Railcar Services. This joint-venture between Greenbrier and Watco created one of the largest independent railcar repair shop networks on the continent. RF System Lab is proud to know that they are utilizing the VJ-ADV for their rail needs; specifically for inspecting the integrity of welds in tank car jackets. Without a high-quality inspection tool, confirming weld integrity on tank cars would require a full-removal of the jacket, leading to much more work and additional expenses. Additionally, RF System Lab is looking forward to connecting with GBW Railcar services at Railway Interchange, taking place in Minneapolis, MN on October 4-6 of this year.
RF System Lab is proud to have DOW Union Carbide as a continued VJ-ADV customer. DOW had already purchased units for multiple locations, but the VJ-ADVs were used so frequently that they required additional units. DOW relies on the VJ-ADV to confidently complete quality inspections of their chemical manufacturing equipment.
We would like to thank these clients, as well as all other new clients not listed here. If you would like to demo the VJ-Advance video borescope, you can sign up for a no-cost, no-obligation demo program. For more information on RF System Lab, please visit our website or call 855-787-6966 to speak with one of our borescope experts about your specific internal inspection needs.
RF System Lab had a record month for VJ-Advance video borescope sales in December, 2014. We are proud to announce an abundance of new inspection camera customers in a wide variety of industries. Clients in December include companies working in fields such as food and beverage, manufacturing, aviation, power generation, aerospace, and more.
We are proud to have surpassed their sales goals by adding the companies listed below, as well as many other impressive industry leaders, to its roster of satisfied customers in December.
One of our customers, representing the manufacturing industry, is Eaton. Eaton provides energy-efficient solutions that help their customers in over 175 countries effectively manage electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical power more efficiently, safely, and sustainably. Eaton is using the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope to perform quality checks by internally inspecting engine components for the automotive industry. The VJ-Advance’s ease of use and high-resolution photo and video capabilities made the justification of the purchase easy.
Many of our latest customers came from the aviation industry; numerous as a result of the company’s successful experience exhibiting at the 2014 NBAA Annual Conference. Two of those customers were New Mexico Airlines and Thunder Airlines of Canada. New Mexico Airlines, the newest, most environmentally friendly airline fleet in the Southwest, is utilizing the VJ-Advance for PT6 engine inspections. We at RF System Lab also ordered the PT6 guide tube for the aviation company, which is a perfect fit for the 3.9mm
VJ- Advance articulating video borescope. Thunder Airlines of Canada, a company located in Thunder Bay Airport that handles scheduled public flights, private charter flights, and cargo flights, purchased the ergonomic VJ-Advance inspection camera to confidently complete power plant and airframe inspections. We are actively growing a video borescope client list in Canada. In fact, two other companies located at Thunder Bay Airport are VJ-Advance customers: Pilatus Centre Canada and Wasaya Airways.
Red Stripe Beer, maker of a well-known Jamaican Lager beer also recently purchased the VJ-Advance. Red Stripe uses the high-quality VJ-Advance video borescope for inspecting Caterpillar Reciprocating Engine Gen Sets. Red Stripe uses the Gen Sets to supply power for their production facility, meaning they have no room for machine downtime. Therefore, they required a videoscope that would perform preventive and corrective maintenance with ease, which is why they selected the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope. The lightweight, portable VJ-Advance, with its 360-degree joystick-control articulation, is the perfect tool to help keep the power running.
Representing the Power Generation industry, we are proud to have the continued business of Exelon Corporation, the nation’s leading energy provider. Exelon has been using the VJ-Advance video borescope since 2009 at multiple nuclear and coal power production plants. We are grateful to have earned their trust and partnership as a supplier of four-way articulating video borescopes. We provided another VJ-Advance for Exelon in December 2014 to assist in completing internal valve inspections.
We at RF System Lab would like to extend a thank you to its newest clients, as well as all additional clients not listed here for making December a memorable sales month. If you would like to demo the VJ-Advance video borescope, you can sign up for a no-cost, no-obligation demo program.
