The second quarter of 2015 is off to a good start for RF System Lab. We are proud to announce a group of impressive companies from a variety of industries as their latest VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) borescope customers. A few of the industries represented below include aviation, power generation, automotive, and casting.

Representing our newest customers in the aviation industry are Ryan Air and Rotortech Services.  Ryan Air, an Alaska Bush carrier that specializes in air cargo shipping, required an inspection camera for PT6 turbine inspections on fixed-wing aircraft.  They selected the portable VJ-ADV because of its ability to operate fully in rugged conditions and extremely low temperatures.  Rotortech Services, located in the much warmer Palm Beach, Florida, provides state-of-the-art maintenance and repair services to helicopters.  They took advantage of our free demo program after visiting RF System Lab’s booth at this year’s HAI Heli Expo.  Rotortech utilizes the VJ-ADV for Turbomeca Arriel inspections on Airbus rotorcraft.  The extreme portability of the AA-battery powered VJ-ADV, weighing in at less than 2lbs, was a big factor in Rotortech’s purchasing decision.

Consolidated Edison (Con Edison) is a new VJ-Advance video borescope user in the power generation industry.  Con Edison, one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the United States, was looking for a high-quality tool to complete internal transformer inspections.  The power company selected the 6.9mm diameter VJ-Advance video borescope for their routine internal RVI of their transformer generators.  Con Edison needed to complete these routine inspections with oil still present in the transformers, which is why they selected the VJ-ADV, whose sturdy insertion tube can be submerged and still articulate without issue.

We at RF System Lab are proud to have an important member of the automotive industry, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA Group).  FCA Group, an international auto group that is a merger of Fiat and Chrysler, needed a video borescope to inspect the body-side box chambers on the vehicles they manufacture.  They had been using a snap-on borescope but were looking to invest in a higher quality tool that featured precise articulation.  RF System Lab is grateful that FCA Group made the investment in the VJ-ADV to complete future inspections.

Joining our list of clients in the casting industry is Fredon Corporation.  Fredon Corporation, a company that specializes in intricate parts, assemblies, and materials, was looking for the best inspection camera for ensuring the complete removal of burrs and residual sand.  The super-slim 3.9mm VJ-ADV was able to smoothly and efficiently navigate through critical core passageways to check for any signs of FOD, which made Fredon’s purchase decision an easy one.

We would like to thank these clients, as well as all other companies that became customers at the start of the second quarter.  If you would like to demo the VJ-Advance video borescope, you can sign up for a no-cost, no-obligation demo program.  For more information on RF System Lab, please visit our website or call 855-787-6966 to speak with one of our borescope experts about your specific internal inspection needs.

Early this month, Aviation maintenance professionals took over Portland, OR for the NBAA MMC (Maintenance Management Conference).  The conference brought together high-caliber educational programming, many networking opportunities, and an exhibit hall full of products and services specifically for business aircraft maintenance and support.

RF System Lab‘s Jess Kuznicki, an expert in the topic of borescopes for aviation, showcase the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope in the exhibit hall and was able to meet many extremely qualified individuals; a sign of a great show. In fact, the RF System Lab booth was located right next to West Star Aviation, a current customer.

“NBAA MMC has all of the aviation-industry professionals that you’d ever want to talk to…all under one roof. It’s the perfect show for us,” stated Kuznicki.

This year’s NBAA MMC boasted a high-record attendance, which could be because of the excellent educational sessions offered, in combination with fun, social opportunities. Gulfstream’s Casino-themed social event was a huge hit and a great way to catch up with fellow business-aviation enthusiasts.

RF System Lab will be in attendance at next year’s show. If you missed the chance to visit the RF System Lab booth at the 2015 NBAA MMC, you should still try out the VJ-Advance video borescope at your own facility – free of charge. Sign up for RF System Lab’s no cost, no obligation demo program so that you can try out the VJ-Advance video borescope on your own equipment.

2,300+ exhibitors is an impressive number. Combine that with an attendee count of around 100,000, and you’ve got the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), which took place last week at NRG Park in Houston, TX. Despite the turmoil that the Oil and Gas industry has been facing as of late, OTC 2015 was as well-attended as ever.

RF System Lab snagged a booth in this sold-out exhibit hall and had a great experience. While the show’s main focus is offshore drilling, there were plenty of land-based oil and gas companies present, which allowed RF System Lab’s Senior Sales Consultant, Casey O’Tool, to present the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope to maintenance professionals involved in all aspects of the petroleum industry. The lightweight, portable VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope, which runs on standard AA batteries, is a great tool for both onshore and offshore maintenance needs. Weighing in at less than two pounds, the VJ-ADV is easily transported to offshore rigs for remote visual inspection (RVI) of welds and other internal parts. The VJ-ADV’s high-resolution image capture allows maintenance professionals to confidently confirm that internal areas are free of cracks and corrosion and that welds are properly sealed.

With a show of this size, it’s nearly impossible to see everyone you’d like to, but O’Tool managed to catch up with current customers and make many new connections while exhibiting at OTC. “It was a good chance to check out some of the newest technologies available for offshore rigs, and also a prime opportunity to discuss the importance of video borescopes in oil and gas maintenance. Condition based equipment maintenance (CBM) is huge right now; using NDT methods to extend time between equipment overhauls is an efficient way to save time and money,” said O’Tool. “OTC gave me the opportunity to speak with like-minded professionals about the importance of minimizing downtime and having the proper resources to allow them to do so.”

RF System Lab would like to offer maintenance professionals in the oil and gas industry, as well as a variety of other industries, the chance to try out the VJ-Advance video borescope at their own facilities. Learn more about our no cost, no obligation demo program to see how the VJ-ADV can maximize efficiency and minimize downtime by visiting the RF System Lab website.
