RF System Lab was pleased with the booth turnout at this year’s Railway Interchange tradeshow. Sales Consultant, Chad Parker was able to introduce the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope to professionals in the Railway industry.
This time around, Chad was able to get some presentation time with the Locomotive Maintenance Officer’s Association (LMOA) (Linked to www.lmoarail.com). His presentation was “well-attended” and exposed railway maintenance technicians to the versatility of the VJ-Advance. Offered in diameters of 2.8, 3.9, and 6.9 millimeters and lengths up to 5 meters, RF System Lab’s borescopes would be a welcome addition to every railway maintenance technician’s toolkit.
Applications discussed during the 3 day span included tank car welding, car-to-car latch, power assembly, air brake, and electric motor inspections. The wide variety of inspections that RF System Lab borescopes are able to complete in the Railway industry makes the VJ-Advance a valuable asset for every Railway company around the world.

On March 25th and 26th, 2014, Aviation Pros LIVE will take over the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event features stimulating keynote and guest speakers, an international maintenance competition, industry focused networking opportunities, the event’s first annual golf tournament and even a chili cook-off. The Aviation Pros LIVE slogan says it all: “You Power Aviation. We Power You.”
This year’s conference speakers include keynote speaker Ralph Hood, whom Oprah Winfrey described as a very “funny man.” Guest speakers include Tom Hendricks, President and CEO of National Air Transportation Association, Rosemary A. Vassiliadis, Director of Aviation at Clark County Department of Aviation and Rick Angor, Senior Manager of GSE, Southeast Region at Southwest Airlines. This knowledgeable and entertaining group of speakers is sure to provide some thought-provoking presentations.
RF System Lab is exhibiting at this show for the second year in a row, and we are excited to have Sales Consultant and borescope expert Edward Thomas representing us. Since the introduction of the VJ series of borescopes in 2008, the aircraft maintenance industry has been the leading adopter of this ground-breaking technology. The key application for which the VJ-Advance borescope is being used is aircraft turbine engine inspection; making Aviation Pros LIVE a great chance to give aviation professionals the opportunity to demo the VJ-Advance video borescope.
RF System Lab is looking forward to exhibiting for our second year at Aviation Pros LIVE. Stop by booth #330 to meet Edward Thomas, sales consultant from RF System Lab starting at 10am on Tuesday, March 25th, and test the ground breaking VJ-ADV Video borescope yourself.

The new 2.8mm VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) has all the same features as the original, flagship 6.9mm VJ-Advance, including four-way joystick-controlled camera articulation, medical grade camera technology, and trigger activated image capture.
As a leader in non-destructive testing technology, we are proud to announce a new addition to our family of video borescopes. The VJ-Advance video borescope line is well-established in the remote visual inspection industry as a preferred diagnostic device for various applications in aviation, oil and gas, chemical processing and automotive manufacturing.
The new 2.8mm VJ-Advance has all the same features as the original, flagship 6.9mm VJ-Advance, including four-way joystick-controlled camera articulation, medical grade camera technology, and trigger activated image capture. “The one-handed, piston-grip design of the VJ-Advance is unrivaled in the video borescope industry, and it’s great to add another new borescope to our line-up,” said Duncan White, Director of Sales and Marketing at RF System Lab. “Our new 2.8mm scope is the smallest video-based borescope with full four-way articulation in the world. It’s really amazing the first time you see it in action – it’s going to be a fantastic alternative to fiber-based scopes for those applications requiring an ultra-thin insertion tube.”
Early interest in the 2.8mm VJ-Advance video borescope has been focused on the aerospace, power-gen and metal casting industries, although any application that requires a sub-4mm borescope is a possible fit. In particular, technicians who have in the past been limited to using fiber-based scopes should consider the new 2.8mm borescope, as it is an excellent replacement for fiberoptic scopes that can be easily damaged. Additionally, these older, fiber-based scopes typically require viewing through an eyepiece, as opposed to the flip-up LCD display screen on the VJ-Advance.
This latest VJ-Advance joins RF System Lab’s existing line of 3.9mm and 6.9mm video borescopes. Please contact us directly to determine which model is right for your needs. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the new 2.8mm video borescope in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.
