RF System Lab Blog: The inside scope

RF System Lab, a leader in non-destructive testing technology, is excited to announce the arrival of the groundbreaking 6.9mm x 8M VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope.

The 6.9mm x 8M scope has all of the same features as the original, flagship 6.9mm VJ-Advance, including four-way joystick-controlled camera articulation, medical-grade camera technology, and trigger-activated image capture.  However, as indicated by the name, the 8M (8 meter) VJ-ADV offers a much longer insertion tube, allowing inspection of heat exchangers, boiler tubes, process piping, and more.

Historically, RF System Lab’s line of 6.9mm, battery operated, easy to use, articulating video borescopes have been offered in lengths of 1.5 meters (4 feet, 11 inches), 3 meters (9 feet, 10 inches), and 5 meters (16 feet, 5 inches’). Our borescope experts are thrilled to now be able to offer this, highly anticipated, in-demand 8 meter (26 feet, 3 inches) scope to new and existing customers.

Just one of the many industries that can benefit from the 8 meter borescope is the food manufacturing industry. Remote visual inspection of pipe welds is crucial to find surface flaws, cracks, porosity, unfilled craters, poorly formed beads, and misalignments; all of which could cause delays in production.  The 6.9mm x 8M video borescope saves time and money and is ideal for weld inspection because of its long reach, slender size, and articulation, allowing it to easily navigate through piping.

The versatile 6.9mm x 8M VJ-ADV articulating video borescope will quickly become a must-have tool in any engineer’s toolbox but don’t just take our word for it.  Please contact one of our borescope experts directly to try the 6.9mm x 8M VJ-Advance for yourself.  To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program.  Contact RF System Lab today by visiting our website or call (231) 943-1171.

The 2016 IADC/SPE Drilling Conference takes place March 1-3 in Fort Worth Texas.  This conference brings together exploration and production professionals and emphasizes advancements in worldwide drilling operations that address problematic challenges and deliver improved performance.

RF System Lab borescope expert Chad Parker is looking forward to attending this leading drilling event to showcase the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) articulating video borescope.  The VJ-ADV is easy to use with joy-stick controlled articulation and high-resolution, on-board image and video capture. Chad will be onsite in booth 424 to answer questions, provide information and hands-on live demonstrations with 2.8mm, 3.9mm, and 6.9mm diameter scopes.  The VJ Advance offers versatile, remote visual inspection capabilities to petroleum, and oil and gas professionals.

The IADC/SPE is comprised of two organizations.  The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) is dedicated to enhancing the interests of oil and gas and geothermal drilling contractors. Members of the IADC own most of the world’s land and offshore drilling units and drill the vast majority of the wells that produce the planet’s oil and gas. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit organization whose members engage in energy resources development and production.

Conference Chairperson Bill Ambrose stated “The technical, keynote, and plenary sessions will each provide insights to navigate the current low commodity price environment of our business. The distinguished speakers in our plenary session will explore the theme of “Out with the Old, in with the New” to share ideas about how we will need to adapt and evolve our technologies and practices. Topics will include well efficiency, capital deployment, and new technologies to extract energy sources. Our keynote speakers will bring perspectives from within our industry, as well as from other industries, to address the critical issues we face today.” For more information about the IADC/SPE Drilling Conference, visit their website. RF System lab will be attending many tradeshows throughout the year with live demonstrations.

If you can’t meet Chad at the show but are interested in reviewing all of the features of the VJ-Advance for yourself, contact us about our no-cost, no-obligation demo program by visiting our website or call today: 231-943-1171.

RF System Lab borescope experts Casey O’Tool and Jess Kuznicki are heading to the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky for the 2016 HAI Heli-Expo from February 29 – March 3, 2016.  The Heli-Expo is the world’s largest tradeshow dedicated to the international helicopter community featuring 1.2 million square feet of space with 700+ exhibitors, 57+ helicopters on display and over 100 education opportunities including education courses, safety sessions, workshops, and forums; some designed specifically for maintenance professionals.

This year, Casey and Jess are looking forward to returning to the Heli-Expo for the fifth time and will be presenting the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) articulating video borescope in booth 9346.  The VJ-Advance has become a favorite with top names in aviation, especially the 3.9mm diameter borescope, which is the perfect fit for Pratt & Whitney engines.

RF System Lab Sales Consultant and borescope expert, Jess Kuznicki, returns from The Quality Show 2015 with a glowing review. Since some of the key industry markets at the show included fabrication, pharmaceutical, aerospace and aviation, and energy production, naturally, we were in attendance.

The Quality Show allows attendees to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in quality control tools and techniques, discover potentially-overlooked maintenance solutions, and to listen to several speakers covering topics of key issues in quality solutions.

A tradeshow that draws exhibitors from a wide variety of major industries, The Quality Show 2015 set up the RF System Lab booth for a high volume of visitors. Attendees were able to see the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope in-person and even request an on-site demo of the borescope.

When RF System Lab’s Jess Kuznicki was asked if we should go back next year, he highly recommended it. When one of our consultants who has talked all-things borescopes for the last five years suggests we go back, we’d be crazy not to.

If couldn’t meet Jess at the show and are interested in reviewing all of the features of the VJ-Advance for yourself, contact us about our no-cost, no-obligation demo program, or call us today at 888-747-6526.

More than 27,000 key aviation professionals including current and prospective business aircraft owners, manufacturers, and customers gathered in Las Vegas to attend NBAA’s 2015 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition.

The 2015 NBAA convention featured over 1,100 indoor exhibitors including RF System Lab’s Jess Kuznicki and Zack Wessels at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  This event also included nearly 100 business aircraft on display at Henderson Executive Airport and dozens of education sessions.

Jess and Zack had a great experience presenting the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope to new and existing customers in the rapidly growing small business jet engine industry.  Attendees were able to see the easy to use VJ-Advance video borescope in action with hands-on presentations.

There’s no other aviation show that matches this massive event.  It was the strongest edition of the annual show since 2008 with guest speakers including FAA administrator Michael Huerta, Oklahoma governor Mary Fallin and Rep. Dina Titus (D-Nev.).  There were even some VIP guests including new business aviation advocate and country musician Dierks Bentley and “Miracle on the Hudson” pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger.  The booth was extremely busy and provided a great opportunity to network with extremely qualified customers.

We will see you in Orlando, Florida at the next NBAA – Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition: November 1-3, 2016.
