Zack Wessels, RF System Lab Sales Consultant, recently returned from the National Agricultural Aviation Association Annual Convention (NAAA 2014). RF System Lab exhibited at a number of aviation tradeshows in 2014, but NAAA was a turning point for us. NAAA 2014 marked the introduction of the VJ-Advance video borescope to the agricultural aviation industry.
NAAA 2014 took place in Louisville, KY from December 8-10, 2014 and is recognized as the world’s largest tradeshow for agricultural aviation. Zack Wessels was on site in the exhibit hall presenting the VJ-Advance video borescope to conference attendees. Zack was extremely impressed with how well-run the show was and that the exhibition hall layout was beneficial for everyone that bought a booth. “It was great to see a show where there really were not any ‘bad booth positions’,” said Wessels.
The VJ-Advance video borescope was a hit with agricultural aviation professionals of all kinds. Whether attendees were maintaining turbine or recip engines, they were all impressed with the advanced technology provided by the VJ-Advance. In fact, Curless Flying Service took a VJ-Advance home with them straight from the show to demo at their own facility.
NAAA 2014 was an excellent experience, and RF System Lab is looking forward to working with agricultural aviation professionals on their maintenance and quality control needs. If you would like to find out more about how you can demo the VJ-Advance video borescope for free, visit the RF System Lab website or call a borescope expert at 888-747-6526.
The VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope was exhibited at Aviation Pros LIVE in Las Vegas, Nevada last month. Notable conference features included stimulating keynote speakers and an international maintenance “skills” competition.
Edward Thomas, RF System Lab borescope expert who was on site at this year’s event, said that the maintenance “skills” competition was unquestionably an entertaining component to the conference. The competition features teams of five to seven mechanics, many of whom are students in aviation maintenance schools, who are scored on time and efficiency in a variety of categories related to aviation repair and maintenance.
Thomas met many interesting attendees while showcasing and providing demos of the VJ-ADV at Aviation Pros LIVE. One encounter that he recalled was chatting with Ron Wilcox, a representative from NASA’s Neil A. Armstrong Research Flight Center. Ron informed Thomas about the Flight Center and the impressive DC-8 Airborne Science Laboratory aircraft. According to NASA’s website, “the unique flying laboratory collects data for experiments in support of scientific projects serving the world’s scientific community.” The plane has modified window ports to mount instruments and probes in their place and is fully operationally.
The DC-8 Airborne Science Laboratory Aircraft is an excellent example of a plane that could benefit from the VJ-ADV. Because the plane boards in Chile, if there are every any maintenance issues, their maintenance team is flown in…which costs around $10,000-12,000 for each instance. By instead utilizing the lightweight, portable VJ-ADV to handle remote visual inspection needs, they could save a massive amount of time and money. The battery-operated VJ-ADV could be easily stored right on board the aircraft, enabling the crew to utilize the video borescope from virtually any location.
If you were unable to test drive the VJ-ADV video borescope at Aviation Pros LIVE, we would like to offer you a free trial. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) line of video borescopes in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.

The temperatures in Traverse City are still bone-chilling, but “spring” is upon us… and that means that tradeshow season is upon us. RF System Lab will be traveling all over the country (and even to Canada) during the months of April and May. The next opportunity to demo the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope is GLOBALCON 2014, presented by the Association of Energy Engineers. Globalcon 2014 will be taking place April 9-10 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ.
According to the event website, this show is “designed specifically to facilitate those seeking to expand their knowledge of fast-moving developments in the energy field, explore promising new technologies, compare energy supply options, and learn about innovative and cost-conscious project implementation strategies.” After visiting the site and learning about the opportunities that will be offered at Globalcon 2014, I second the statement above; there are definitely some thought-provoking sessions offered at this year’s show.
Some of these sessions include informative speeches, interesting workshops and a multitude of learning tracks emphasizing four areas of leading edge technology and services: Energy Management, Renewables, Alternative Energy and Onsite Generation, Lighting Efficiency, and Plant and Facilities Management. If you’re looking for a way to network while incorporating a little fun, there is a New Technologies Breakfast, the Northeast Green showcase, and tours of the Marina Thermal Facility and the Inlet District Energy Center at Revel.
RF System Lab is looking forward to network and exhibit at Globalcon 2014. Edward Thomas, who will be the sales consultant onsite at the show, noted “This show provides me with a great opportunity to catch up with previous customers such as Dresser-Rand, Honeywell, Capstone, Solar Turbines and Siemans. That, combined with the information that I will be able to obtain at some of the free workshops offered as well as the New Technologies Breakfast, make this conference one that I would not want to miss.” Thomas will be onsite at the show to provide demonstrations and answer any questions about the VJ-ADV. He is excited to show attendees how the VJ-ADV is an essential asset to any power generation facility. Plant and facility management is handled in an efficient and precise manner with the VJ-ADV’s compact and portable design, four way, joystick controlled articulation, image and video capture capability, and outstanding optics and image quality.
RF System lab is looking forward to meeting decision makers from the industry who are seeking affordable, high quality inspection tools. Stop by booth #434 and meet Edward Thomas, sales consultant from RF System Lab starting Monday, April 10th and test the ground breaking VJ-ADV Video borescope yourself.
