Next week’s Border Security Expo is bringing together high-level decision-makers from all over the world to discuss the most pressing topics involved with border enforcement. The expo, which takes place April 21-22nd at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ, offers panel sessions, keynote speeches from Vice Admiral Charles W. Ray, Phil Landfried, Daniel Ragsdale, and Ronald D. Vitiello, as well as an exhibit hall packed with the latest advancements in border security.

As stated by Jayson P. Ahem, Principal, The Chertoff Group and Former Acting Commissioner, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, “Border Security Expo is an important world class event that is the premier border security conference in the world.”

RF System Lab’s VP of Government Programs, Joel Riling, will be exhibiting on behalf of RF System Lab. He will be onsite to provide demonstrations and give information about the line of ergonomic VJ-Advance articulating video borescopes. The VJ-Advance, which is currently being used by every branch in the military, is an excellent tool for bomb squads and EOD professionals to have on hand; especially where border security is involved. With poly-coated insertion tubes as tiny as 2.8mm, the joystick-controlled VJ-Advance can fit in extremely small areas; allowing border security professionals to internally inspect suspicious areas with confidence.

Interested parties can stop by the RF System Lab Booth #1118 in the Border Security Expo exhibit hall for more information. If you’re unable to attend this expo, check-out future shows that RF System Lab will be attending on the RF System Lab website.

The 2015 Global Force Symposium and Exposition, formally known as the AUSA Winter Symposium, and the 2015 Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit are taking place in two weeks. The Global Force Symposium,  occurring March 31-April 2nd, is located at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL while the Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit goes from March 29-April 1st at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN. Even with the overlapping dates, RF System Lab’s VP of Government Programs, Joel Riling, will be exhibiting at both events.

A bit of background on both of these events, which RF System Lab has attended for a few years in a row now and are shows we do not want to miss:

  • Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit: The entire Army Community  –  Active Duty, National Guard, Army Reserve, Department of Army Civilians, and other industry reps — gather in an exhibit hall to find solutions for the challenges aviation warfighters face around the world. The symposium also features numerous networking opportunities, 16 hours of professional development, and over 300,000 square feet of exhibits.
  • Global Force Symposium: This three-day event, hosted by the Association of the United States Army’s Institute of Land Warfare (AUSA ILW), features presentations from the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command, the United States Army Materiel Command and the Office and the Assistant Secretary of the Army. The goal of the symposium is to explore the capabilities outlined in the Army Operating Concept and how the force transforms from being adaptive to driving innovation for Force 2024 and beyond. It also includes a large exhibit hall and offers exclusive exhibit-hall-only hours.

Joel Riling is looking forward to providing more information at these events about the articulating VJ-Advance video borescope, a tool that is currently being used by every branch of the military. Attendees interested in improving their quality control and learning more about remote visual inspection can stop by RF System Lab’s booth at either of these events. The 2014 Aircraft Airworthiness and Sustainment (AA&S) Conference is coming up, and RF System Lab is exhibiting. The conference is taking place April 14-17 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland. AA&S is a conference that strives to address airworthiness and sustainment concerns that have increased exponentially over the past decade in the aviation and military community.

As stated on the 2014 Aircraft Airworthiness and Sustainment conference website, “The AA&S Conference provides a unique opportunity and forum for inter-agency collaboration on today’s airworthiness and sustainment issues, many of which are common to military and commercial aircraft and space vehicles, by advancing technology and incorporating lessons learned.”

Joel Riling, a 26 year retired Navy Pilot and current RF System Lab Vice President for Government Programs, will be onsite at the conference to present the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope. When asked about the conference, Riling replied “I am looking forward to meeting with all of the Defense contractors and State and Federal agencies to show them our affordable high quality video borescope. Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky and many others have realized significant savings and are currently using the VJ-Advance for Airframe Inspections.”

The VJ-ADV offers a combination of high-end optics, portability, and features unique to the world of remote visual inspection, which makes it an ideal choice for the military aviation industry. The VJ-Advance is used in a variety of inspection scenarios, including turbine and airframe. You can see for yourself how inspections with the VJ-ADV are precise and efficient by testing it out for yourself at the 2014 Aircraft Airworthiness and Sustainment Conference.

Stop by and see Joel Riling at the RF System Lab booth #606 starting on Tuesday, April 15th for a chance to demo the groundbreaking VJ-ADV.

In 2011, President Obama and Prime Minister Harper publicized the US-Canada joint declaration titled “Beyond the Border: A Shared Vision for Perimeter Security and Economic Competitiveness.” The US/Canada Border Conference promises to bring together local, state, provincial, and federal agencies, as well as business organizations, in a location convenient to both nations, to advance this important agenda between the United States and Canada. The central location of choice for the US/Canada Border Conference, which is coming up September 16-17, 2014, is the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan.

The Fleet Maintenance & Modernization Symposium (FMMS) 2014 is specifically designed to provide valuable information and networking opportunities for those who are involved in maintenance, refit, repair, conversion, modernization, service, and support of naval ships and craft. The theme for FMMS 2014 is “Delivering Readiness in Austere Times.”

A recent and exciting announcement regarding FMMS is that the Department of the Navy has approved government participation for FMMS 2014. This means that registration is free for all military and government personnel and participation by local government and military personnel at no cost to the government is authorized subject to local command approval.

FMMS offers attendees and exhibitors many educational “bonus” opportunities. One example is the Ship Tour, which allows interested parties a chance to gather at the Norfolk Naval Base and tour one of the amphibious ships on Monday, September 8th.

Joel Riling, RF System Lab’s VP of Government Programs and retired Naval Commander will once again be onsite exhibiting the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope at this year’s FMMS. He is looking forward to introducing fellow naval professionals involved with the maintenance and care of ships and craft to the versatile, fully-articulating VJ-ADV and showing them how it can simplify their remote visual inspections. Riling will be located at booth #F08 – make sure to stop by and test out the joystick-controlled VJ-ADV.
