Galveston, Texas is a nice, warm place to visit this time of year. RF System Lab’s borescope expert, Zack Wessels, was able to take a walk on the beach on his way to exhibit at the 2015 API Inspection Summit. The summit took place January 26- 29, 2015 at the Galveston Island Convention Center. This year’s conference focused on asset integrity through corrosion management, inspection, and engineering technology and brought together petroleum experts for three days of exhibits and presentations.
Zack had a great experience while presenting the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope. Not only did he get a chance to network with other exhibitors and learn more about their resources, he was able to connect with current and potential clients, and even got to catch the keynote speech by John Felmy, Chief Economist of API.
Despite the drop in price for petroleum, attendees and vendors were extremely optimistic and still showed a great interest in the VJ-Advance video borescope for internal inspections — especially in combination with access panels. These suction-like panels allow maintenance professionals to permanent and easily gain closer access to internal parts that are being inspected. They’re a great compliment to the VJ-Advance, which easily snakes through those panels to complete remote visual inspection and confirm the existence of corrosion of other defects.
The API Inspection Summit was a well-done show and RF System Lab was glad to have been a part of it. If you were unable to attend the summit and test out the VJ-Advance video borescope, you can still demo the VJ-Advance onsite at your own facility. Learn how to take advantage of our no-cost, no-obligation demo program by visiting the RF System Lab website.
Earlier this month, RF System Lab was one of approximately 100 exhibitors at the IADC/SPE Drilling Conference and Exhibition, which took place in Fort Worth, Texas. After attending the show in 2013, RF System Lab Sales Consultant Jess Kuznicki was looking forward to this year’s conference… and it did not disappoint.
One of the highlights of this year’s conference were being able to catch up with clients such as BOS Solutions, National Oilwell Varco (NOV), and Schlumberger, who sponsored this year’s reception. The Texas-themed reception was another memorable conference event; held at the Cowboy Hall of Fame and complete with true-to-theme copper mugs to hold attendees’ beverages.
“The IADC/SPE Drilling Conference and Exhibition is just a really good show for us,” comments Kuznicki. He mentioned that he made some great connections at this year’s show. Jess has already started working with new contacts since getting back to the RF System Lab office in Traverse City, Michigan.
The IADC/SPE Drilling Conference and Exhibition is an excellent fit for RF System Lab. Our product line, the VJ-Advance line of articulating video borescopes, helps to save both time and money by allowing professionals in the oil and gas industry to do a visual inspection of internal components without a costly and time-consuming tear down. Being able to provide demos to industry professionals at this conference is a great opportunity.
If you were unable to test drive the VJ-Advance video borescope at the IADC/SPE Drilling Conference and Exhibition, we would like to offer you a free trial. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the VJ-Advance line of video borescope in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.

RF System Lab is proud to welcome new customers from the month of July in a multitude of industries. RF System Lab’s most recent client list includes companies from multiple industries, including Power Generation, Oil and Gas, Energy, Casting, and Food Processing.
One of RF System Lab’s newest customers in the Food Processing industry is MillerCoors. MillerCoors is a leading US brewing company that is a joint venture between SABMiller and Molson Coors Brewing Company. They required a high-quality borescope to complete processed piping sanitation inspections and ensure that their pipes were clean and had no leakage. With a reputation of quality products on the line, MillerCoors needed to make sure to invest in a borescope that could help them complete sanitation inspections with confidence.
Another new VJ-Advance video borescope user is National Mechanical Services. National Mechanical Services, a well-known power generation field service company specializing in generators, heavy rotating equipment and outside machinery repairs, purchased the 6.9mm – 3m VJ-Advance video borescope to assist with power generator service and repair. One notable use of the versatile 6.9mm VJ-ADV is complex stator end winding inspections to ensure that they are not melted or damaged.
RF System Lab is proud to have world leader in superalloy, aluminum and titanium investment casting, PCC Structurals, as a new customer. PCC Structurals purchased the 2.8mm VJ-ADV to take advantage of the benefits that a super-slim articulating video borescope provides. Having the ability to easily ensure that holes in casted parts were not blocked and that internal passageways did not contain any foreign object debris (FOD) after removing the casting mold is crucial to any casting business. For this reason, many casting companies struggle with rigid-style borescopes, so investing in a video borescope with 360 degree articulation and a high-resolution camera with video capabilities was an easy decision for PCC Structurals.
RF System Lab would like to extend a thank you to these new clients, as well as all additional clients not listed here. If you would like to demo the VJ-Advance video borescope, you can sign up for a no-cost, no-obligation demo program. Gulf South Rotating Machinery Symposium (GSRMS) took place in Baton Rouge, LA last month. Baton Rouge, the home of oil and gas, was the ideal location for this conference, which was a must-attend for professionals in the compression industry.
Casey O’Tool, RF System Lab sales consultant, was on site exhibiting the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope at GSRMS and had the opportunity to provide demos to attendees in between conference sessions. Even though some sessions took up the majority of the day, O’Tool was still able to make some great contacts and reconnect with familiar companies. One of the companies that O’Tool was glad to see was RR Energy Services, a company that specializes in natural gas compression and industrial diesel equipment.
There were many refineries in attendance at GSRMS who were interested in using the VJ-ADV for remote visual inspections (RVI). One notable connection O’Tool made was with Wood Group PSN, a large service company in the oil and gas industry. The show provided a great social event in the form of a Crawfish Boil that offered many chances for attendees and exhibitors to engage in discussions about the compression industry…while enjoying a meal of good old-fashioned Louisiana cuisine.
If you were unable to test drive the VJ-Advance video borescope (while chowing down on some delicious crawfish) at Gulf South Rotating Machinery Symposium, we would like to offer you a free trial. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the VJ-Advance line of video borescopes in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.
