2,300+ exhibitors is an impressive number. Combine that with an attendee count of around 100,000, and you’ve got the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), which took place last week at NRG Park in Houston, TX. Despite the turmoil that the Oil and Gas industry has been facing as of late, OTC 2015 was as well-attended as ever.
RF System Lab snagged a booth in this sold-out exhibit hall and had a great experience. While the show’s main focus is offshore drilling, there were plenty of land-based oil and gas companies present, which allowed RF System Lab’s Senior Sales Consultant, Casey O’Tool, to present the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope to maintenance professionals involved in all aspects of the petroleum industry. With a show of this size, it’s nearly impossible to see everyone you’d like to, but O’Tool managed to catch up with current customers and make many new connections while exhibiting at OTC. “It was a good chance to check out some of the newest technologies available for offshore rigs, and also a prime opportunity to discuss the importance of video borescopes in oil and gas maintenance. Condition based equipment maintenance (CBM) is huge right now; using NDT methods to extend time between equipment overhauls is an efficient way to save time and money,” said O’Tool. “OTC gave me the opportunity to speak with like-minded professionals about the importance of minimizing downtime and having the proper resources to allow them to do so.”
