MRO Americas 2016

HAI Heli-Expo is the world’s largest trade show dedicated to the international helicopter community. The massive 2016 event took place earlier this month in Louisville, Kentucky. RF System Lab was proud to attend for the 6th time this year and be one of over 700 exhibitors to engage with approximately 20,000 helicopter professionals. RF System Lab’s second year exhibiting at MRO Americas was quite the success. The 2014 MRO Americas mega-show took place April 8-10 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona and provided the chance to network with over 750 solutions providers.
Casey O’Tool, RF System Lab sales consultant, had a great time connecting with professionals in the power plant, air frame, auxiliary power unit (APU) and aerospace manufacturing industries. In fact, the RF System Lab exhibit was set up next to ALCO’s. ALCO, a Merex company, provides APU overhauls and O’Tool was fortunate enough to be able to meet ALCO president, Robert Cantu.
APU maintenance is an excellent fit for the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope. The VJ-ADV allows APU maintenance professionals to inspect their APU turbines without having to cause any damage to the unit. With the 360 degree articulation, maintenance teams are able to easily do a full-survey of their units. One of those current customers was Kalitta Air, who had an impressive exhibit set up at MRO Americas. O’Tool also met up with Hallmark College Aeronautical School, who were interested in utilizing the scope at their aviation and aeronautical unit. RF System Lab had a memorable experience exhibiting at the NBAA Annual Conference for the third year in a row. Borescope expert and seasoned RF System Lab sales consultant Jess Kuznicki recently returned from the show, which took place in Orlando, FL at the Orange County Convention Center. The NBAA Annual Conference is the fourth largest tradeshow in the USA, so there was plenty to see and experience.
Despite the gigantic tradeshow hall, Jess was able to reconnect with many current customers and the RF System Lab booth was a popular stop. Many of the companies and individuals who came by to check out the versatile VJ-Advance video borescope informed Jess that the RF System Lab booth was on their “must-see” list. Visitors were impressed with the joy-stick controlled, four-way articulating insertion tubes, which come in a variety of sizes: 2.8mm, 3.9mm, and 6.9mm. J St. John returned to the RF System Lab office yesterday after a week in Dayton, Ohio for the Turbine Engine Technology Symposium (TETS). TETS took place September 8-11 at the Dayton Convention Center and focused on the newest advances in the turbine engine industry.
Representing RF System Lab onsite was borescope expert J St. John. J had the opportunity to present the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope to exhibitors and attendees. The VJ-ADV received incredible attention and interest, especially with the increased capabilities and technology available within additive manufacturing. Technology advancements, including 3D printing, has heightened the need for precise inspection of internal parts. The VJ-ADV, with its joystick-controlled 4-way articulation and ultra-thin 2.8mm insertion tube diameter, is a great fit for the industry.
