The 2016 IADC/SPE Drilling Conference takes place March 1-3 in Fort Worth Texas.  This conference brings together exploration and production professionals and emphasizes advancements in worldwide drilling operations that address problematic challenges and deliver improved performance.

RF System Lab borescope expert Chad Parker is looking forward to attending this leading drilling event to showcase the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) articulating video borescope.  The VJ-ADV is easy to use with joy-stick controlled articulation and high-resolution, on-board image and video capture. Chad will be onsite in booth 424 to answer questions, provide information and hands-on live demonstrations with 2.8mm, 3.9mm, and 6.9mm diameter scopes.  The VJ Advance offers versatile, remote visual inspection capabilities to petroleum, and oil and gas professionals.

The IADC/SPE is comprised of two organizations.  The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) is dedicated to enhancing the interests of oil and gas and geothermal drilling contractors. Members of the IADC own most of the world’s land and offshore drilling units and drill the vast majority of the wells that produce the planet’s oil and gas. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit organization whose members engage in energy resources development and production.

Conference Chairperson Bill Ambrose stated “The technical, keynote, and plenary sessions will each provide insights to navigate the current low commodity price environment of our business. The distinguished speakers in our plenary session will explore the theme of “Out with the Old, in with the New” to share ideas about how we will need to adapt and evolve our technologies and practices. Topics will include well efficiency, capital deployment, and new technologies to extract energy sources. Our keynote speakers will bring perspectives from within our industry, as well as from other industries, to address the critical issues we face today.” For more information about the IADC/SPE Drilling Conference, visit their website. RF System lab will be attending many tradeshows throughout the year with live demonstrations.

If you can’t meet Chad at the show but are interested in reviewing all of the features of the VJ-Advance for yourself, contact us about our no-cost, no-obligation demo program by visiting our website or call today: 231-943-1171.

2,300+ exhibitors is an impressive number. Combine that with an attendee count of around 100,000, and you’ve got the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), which took place last week at NRG Park in Houston, TX. Despite the turmoil that the Oil and Gas industry has been facing as of late, OTC 2015 was as well-attended as ever.

RF System Lab snagged a booth in this sold-out exhibit hall and had a great experience. While the show’s main focus is offshore drilling, there were plenty of land-based oil and gas companies present, which allowed RF System Lab’s Senior Sales Consultant, Casey O’Tool, to present the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope to maintenance professionals involved in all aspects of the petroleum industry. The lightweight, portable VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope, which runs on standard AA batteries, is a great tool for both onshore and offshore maintenance needs. Weighing in at less than two pounds, the VJ-ADV is easily transported to offshore rigs for remote visual inspection (RVI) of welds and other internal parts. The VJ-ADV’s high-resolution image capture allows maintenance professionals to confidently confirm that internal areas are free of cracks and corrosion and that welds are properly sealed.

With a show of this size, it’s nearly impossible to see everyone you’d like to, but O’Tool managed to catch up with current customers and make many new connections while exhibiting at OTC. “It was a good chance to check out some of the newest technologies available for offshore rigs, and also a prime opportunity to discuss the importance of video borescopes in oil and gas maintenance. Condition based equipment maintenance (CBM) is huge right now; using NDT methods to extend time between equipment overhauls is an efficient way to save time and money,” said O’Tool. “OTC gave me the opportunity to speak with like-minded professionals about the importance of minimizing downtime and having the proper resources to allow them to do so.”

RF System Lab would like to offer maintenance professionals in the oil and gas industry, as well as a variety of other industries, the chance to try out the VJ-Advance video borescope at their own facilities. Electric Power 2015 took place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL last month. While it is not one of the largest tradeshows that RF System Lab attends, this year’s exhibit hall was packed full of power gen professionals – both attendees and exhibitors.

RF System Lab’s Borescope Expert, Jess Kuznicki, was onsite presenting the VJ-Advance video borescope at booth #346 and had excellent feedback about this year’s show. He got the chance to connect with many end users and was happy to report that while the show is called “Electric Power,” it is a popular show for gas & nuclear power professionals as well. He was able to catch up with one of our current customers, including the representative from Duke Energy.

Another highlight from thsi year’s show was the networking event put on by Industrial Info at The Capital Grille, which was a great chance to chat with other exhibitors and attendees in a less structured setting. The complimentary meal and beverages were a nice way to end a busy day on the tradeshow floor.

If you were unable visit RF System Lab’s booth at Electric Power to test out the VJ-Advance video borescope, we’d like to offer you a chance to try out the VJ-Advance at your own facility — for free!  Click here to learn more about our no cost, no obligation demo program, or call (231) 943-1171 to speak with one of our borescope experts about your RVI needs.

The ASNT Annual Conference, put on by the American Society of Nondestructive Testing, took place in Charleston, SC during October 27-30, 2014. The conference featured over 165 exhibitors; all sharing the most cutting edge products in Non-destructive Testing (NDT).

Among those products was the ground breaking VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope from RF System Lab, which is making waves as a top choice for remote visual inspection in a wide variety of industries. The VJ-ADV was among many other remote visual inspection tools, which is an excellent indication that there is a definite need for high-quality internal inspection equipment.

RF System Lab’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Duncan White, and Sales Consultant, Zack Wessels, were onsite at the ASNT Annual Conference and had a great time meeting with current customers like Watco and Sulzer. They were also fortunate to have a booth location with excellent neighbors to connect with. One company they wanted to make sure to recognize, whose booth was across the aisle from the RF System Lab booth, was Labino, a leading manufacturer of UV and white light products.

All in all, the ASNT Annual Conference was an event that was well attended and should not be missed by any NDT or Quality Control professional. RF System Lab has already booked space for 2015 and is looking forward to making even more connections.
