The VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope has made its way back to Traverse City, MI after traveling to Atlantic City, NJ on April 9-10 for GLOBALCON 2014, presented by the Association of Energy Engineers. GLOBALCON 2014 was full of thought-provoking sessions and opportunities, as well as an exhibit floor with the latest energy-saving technology…plus a meet and greet at the TUN Tavern.

Edward Thomas, RF System Lab sales consultant, was on site to demo the VJ-ADV during GLOBALCON 2014. He was also able to mix and mingle with some of the industry’s finest reliability engineers. One notable connection that Thomas made was Atlantic Power System, an energy provider that maintains large diesel engines. A perfect fit for the VJ-ADV video borescope. The VJ-ADV’s one-handed joystick articulation allows technicians to easily inspect large diesel engines, which is crucial when assessments include evaluating a path that goes through a muffler and over a baffle. Utilizing a video borescope with 360 degree articulation ensures completed inspections, with accuracy and confidence.

Another company that Thomas met at GLOBALCON 2014 was Protective Power Systems and Controls, whose booth was located across the aisle from RF System Lab’s. Protective Power Systems and Controls is a company that maintains generators for various clients. The ability to capture concise images and videos of internal generator inspections and swiftly transfer them to an SD card, features offered by the VJ-ADV, would be a great value to maintenance field technicians as well as customers.

RF System Lab values the energy industry, which is what made providing demonstrations of the VJ-ADV at GLOBALCON 2014 such a memorable experience. If you were unable to test drive the VJ-Advance video borescope at GLOBALCON 2014, we would like to offer you a free trial. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the VJ-Advance line of video borescopes in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.

One of our newest customers in the aviation maintenance industry is Metro Aviation, a company that has earned a reputation for excellence in helicopter transportation services.  While Metro Aviation mainly maintains helicopters, they sometimes work on fixed wing aircraft as well.  They recently purchased a 3.9mm X 1.5m VJ-Advance video borescope to assist with maintenance of both their fixed wing and rotor aircraft and to complete 1200-hour inspections with confidence.

Wirco Logo

A new client in the casting industry is WIRCO.  WIRCO, a casting and fabrications company, committed to providing high quality heat treat fixturing and furnace replacement parts, needed an inspection camera to complete weld inspections.  After trying out a multitude of borescopes that did not provide the image quality required for inspections, WIRCO demoed the VJ-Advance video borescope and found that it exceeded their standards.  The high-resolution image quality and on board video capture that the VJ-Advance articulating video borescope provides will significantly speed up WIRCO’s quality control process.

SAIC Motor Corporation Logo

SAIC Motor Corporation Logo

Representing the manufacturing Industry, SAIC Motor is another company among RF System Lab’s newest customers.  SAIC Motor, the largest auto group on the Chinese A-share stock market, needed a versatile, portable video borescope camera for use on their manufacturing line.  They reached out to us and purchased a 6.9mm X 3m VJ-Advance video borescope.  Weighing in at just 23oz, the lightweight, AA battery operated VJ-Advance was the perfect addition to SAIC Motor’s toolkit.

xcel energy logoAdditionally, we are excited to have a major power generation company, Xcel Energy, as a new customer.  Xcel Energy serves more than 3.3 million electric customers and 1.8 million natural gas customers all over the USA.  They will be using the VJ-Advance video borescope to assist them in their preventative and corrective maintenance.  We at RF System Lab are grateful to be an official vendor for Xcel Energy and to have the ability to assist with those efforts.

We would like to extend a thank you to these new clients, as well as all additional clients not listed here.  If you would like to demo the VJ-Advance video borescope, you can sign up for a no-cost, no-obligation demo program.

RF System Lab’s second year exhibiting at MRO Americas was quite the success. The 2014 MRO Americas mega-show took place April 8-10 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona and provided the chance to network with over 750 solutions providers.

Casey O’Tool, RF System Lab sales consultant, had a great time connecting with professionals in the power plant, air frame, auxiliary power unit (APU) and aerospace manufacturing industries. In fact, the RF System Lab exhibit was set up next to ALCO’s. ALCO, a Merex company, provides APU overhauls and O’Tool was fortunate enough to be able to meet ALCO president, Robert Cantu.

APU maintenance is an excellent fit for the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope. The VJ-ADV allows APU maintenance professionals to inspect their APU turbines without having to cause any damage to the unit. With the 360 degree articulation, maintenance teams are able to easily do a full-survey of their units. The crisp, clear image and video capture options on the VJ-ADV provide them with concise and accurate recordings of any damage or corrosion. In addition to APU inspections, attendees were very interested in utilizing the VJ-ADV on drop engines such as Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney.

Kalitta Air Exhibit at MRO Americas

O’Tool also got the chance to catch up with past and current customers. O’Tool stated: “It’s rare to attend a show where I don’t get to reconnect with a past customer. It’s nice to see faces and brands that I have worked with in the past and see how they’re doing and how we can assist them in the future.”

One of those current customers was Kalitta Air, who had an impressive exhibit set up at MRO Americas. O’Tool also met up with Hallmark College Aeronautical School, who were interested in utilizing the scope at their aviation and aeronautical unit. Their president spent some time testing the VJ-ADV at MRO Americas and has since then ordered a free video borescope demo trial.

MRO Americas 2014 provided a variety of opportunities for both new and old customers to test the VJ-ADV for themselves. If you were unable to test drive the VJ-Advance video borescope at MRO Americas 2014, we would like to offer you a free trial. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the VJ-Advance line of video borescopes in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.
