The VJ-Advance video borescope will be traveling cross-country next week for the Western Turbine Users Inc. (WTUI) Conference, taking place in Long Beach, CA. The conference, which occurs March 15-18, 2015, consists of technical breakout sessions for the GE LM2500, LM5000, LM6000, and LMS100 lines of engines.
According to the conference website, the event will also feature technical presentations by industry experts on various environmental, operations, and maintenance issues surrounding operations of gas turbine power plants. Also offered at this year’s conference is a 25th Anniversary Celebration on Monday night, golf and tennis tournaments, and exhibits featuring the latest turbine technology.
RF System Lab is looking forward to being featured as one of those exhibits and will be providing demos of the VJ-Advance video borescope. The VJ-Advance, which is the ideal turbine inspection tool, assists maintenance experts to confirm the internal conditions of turbine engines. Remote visual inspection with high-quality video borescopes is crucial for checking for FOD, cracks in turbine blades, or corrosion. Casey O’Tool, RF System Lab Senior Sales Consultant, will be onsite to provide more information to interested turbine professionals and answer questions about borescope applications.
Stop by RF System Lab’s exhibit at booth #265 starting 9:00 am on Monday, March 16th to test the ground- breaking VJ-Advance video borescope.

RF System Lab Sales Consultant, Casey O’Tool, had only positive things to say about his experience as an exhibitor at this year’s Western Turbine Users, Inc. conference. The conference took place last month in Palm Springs, California. Highlights from this year’s Western Turbine, Inc. conference included technical presentations by industry experts on various environmental, operations and maintenance issues surrounding operations of gas turbine fired power plants and informative technical breakout sessions.
One of Casey O’Tool’s favorite featured events was the “History of Flight” themed reception on Monday evening, which took place at the Palm Springs Air Museum. O’Tool was extremely impressed with the entertainment and layout of the event, noting “they really went all out. The conference coordinators rented out the entire museum for this reception… we ate our dinners, which were delicious, in the hanger! It was definitely an experience I’ll remember.”
In addition to enjoying the History of Flight reception and the friendly and inviting conference atmosphere, O’Tool told us that best experiences he had at the Western Turbine Users, Inc. conference were all through connections that he was able to make. O’Tool got the chance to catch up with RF System Lab client Component Repair Technologies, Inc., who was also exhibiting at the show. Their representative told O’Tool that they were extremely happy with their VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) 3.9mm video borescope. Component Repair Technologies is expecting to save thousands of dollars by making the switch from an expensive high-end unit to the affordable, feature-rich, VJ-ADV.
Another connection that O’Tool values having made is with Nalco, an Ecolab company. They are a leader in water treatment processes and purification. During the conference, O’Tool received an invitation to a dinner party that Nalco put on at the Blue Coyote Bar & Grill; a southwestern restaurant in downtown Palm Springs. While attending that dinner party, he was able to meet some great representatives from NAES, an independent service provider for the power generation industry.
The Western Turbine Users, Inc. conference clearly brings together many influential representatives in the gas turbine and inspection industry. According to O’Tool, “This conference is a really good fit for us. I would recommend attending to anyone in the gas turbine inspection or electric generation inspection industry. I’m already looking forward to being present in 2015!”
If you were unable to test drive the VJ-ADV at the Western Turbine Users, Inc. conference, we would like to offer you a free trial. To make the decision process easy, we offer the industry’s only no-cost, no-obligation demo program so you can evaluate the VJ-ADV line of video borescopes in your facility doing your inspections, before you decide to buy.
