The Regional Air Cargo Carriers Association (RACCA) Annual Conference took place in Scottsdale, Arizona the last week of April. Casey O’Tool, RF System Lab’s Senior Sales Consultant, was in attendance at this year’s conference for the first time and had nothing but great things to say.
While RACCA is a smaller event (with around 200 people registered), the attendees are the exact end-users that any exhibitor would want to reach. Casey O’Tool had a great experience as one of the table top exhibitors and got the opportunity to present the VJ-Advance video borescope to some extremely qualified companies, including some current customers such as Prime Turbines, Embraer, and Vector Air.
RACCA is a clear favorite among company executives. “It had a really nice ‘vacation-like’ vibe, while still offering a wide variety of informational technical sessions featuring the most pressing topics. I can see why it’s a well-liked show,” explained Casey O’Tool. Some of the big issues being covered included the Pilot Shortage and emerging issues with the next generation of aviation professionals. RACCA also threw a fun poolside barbeque one of the nights of the conference, where O’Tool had the chance to network with fellow exhibitors and attendees.
Overall, RACCA 2015 was a small-scale show that had a big impact with those in attendance. We’re looking forward to next year!

Electric Power 2015 took place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL last month. While it is not one of the largest tradeshows that RF System Lab attends, this year’s exhibit hall was packed full of power gen professionals – both attendees and exhibitors.
RF System Lab’s Borescope Expert, Jess Kuznicki, was onsite presenting the VJ-Advance video borescope at booth #346 and had excellent feedback about this year’s show. He got the chance to connect with many end users and was happy to report that while the show is called “Electric Power,” it is a popular show for gas & nuclear power professionals as well. He was able to catch up with one of our current customers, including the representative from Duke Energy.
Another highlight from thsi year’s show was the networking event put on by Industrial Info at The Capital Grille, which was a great chance to chat with other exhibitors and attendees in a less structured setting. The complimentary meal and beverages were a nice way to end a busy day on the tradeshow floor.
If you were unable visit RF System Lab’s booth at Electric Power to test out the VJ-Advance video borescope, we’d like to offer you a chance to try out the VJ-Advance at your own facility — for free! Last week’s Aerospace Maintenance Competition provided an uplifting look into the future of aviation and aerospace maintenance. Fourteen teams competed in the School Division of the 2015 Aerospace Maintenance Competition (AMC); a skill-based event that took place during last week’s 2015 MRO Americas.
Zack Wessels, RF System Lab borescope expert, was onsite at AMC for the duration of the event and was extremely impressed with the caliber of teams competing; especially the college teams. “It was great to see a high-level of teamwork and problem solving skills from the teams in the school division… it was an exciting look into what to expect from future AMTs/AMEs,” said Wessels.
RF System Lab sponsored the event and also donated a VJ-Advance video borescope that was awarded to the winning college team. After a grueling two-day competition, Salt Lake Community College was crowned the winning team for the School division. In addition to earning the title of First Place Team in the School division, Salt Lake Community College took home a plethora of prizes, including the high-quality VJ-Advance articulation video borescope.
We would like to congratulate Salt Lake Community College on their victory, as well as all the other teams who came out to compete in this year’s AMC!

Power-Gen International is the largest, most respected power generation event in the world. The 2014 event took place December 8-11, 2014 in Orlando, Florida and showcased over 1,400 exhibitors, 22,000 power professionals from over 90 countries, and more than 200 of the industry’s top speakers. RF System Lab’s Senior Sales Consultant, Casey O’Tool and Sales Consultant, Chad Parker, were fortunate to be one of the 1,400 exhibitions presented at the event.
Casey and Chad were onsite to provide Power Generation Maintenance professionals the opportunity to test out the ergonomic VJ-Advance video borescope. Professionals were able to see first-hand how the video borescope’s numerous features, such as joystick-controlled 360 degree articulation and on board camera and video capture, were perfect to assist with preventative and corrective maintenance efforts – both of which are crucial in any power generation facility.
This was RF System Lab’s third year attending Power-Gen International, and they are already looking forward to attending the 2015 show. If you were unable to connect with one of our sales consultants at this tradeshow, check RF System Lab’s 2015 tradeshow schedule to find out where you can test out the VJ-Advance video borescope in the future.
The 2014 Aircraft Airworthiness and Sustainment (AA&S) Conference is coming up, and RF System Lab is exhibiting. The conference is taking place April 14-17 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland. AA&S is a conference that strives to address airworthiness and sustainment concerns that have increased exponentially over the past decade in the aviation and military community.
As stated on the 2014 Aircraft Airworthiness and Sustainment conference website, “The AA&S Conference provides a unique opportunity and forum for inter-agency collaboration on today’s airworthiness and sustainment issues, many of which are common to military and commercial aircraft and space vehicles, by advancing technology and incorporating lessons learned.”
Joel Riling, a 26 year retired Navy Pilot and current RF System Lab Vice President for Government Programs, will be onsite at the conference to present the VJ-Advance (VJ-ADV) video borescope. When asked about the conference, Riling replied “I am looking forward to meeting with all of the Defense contractors and State and Federal agencies to show them our affordable high quality video borescope. Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky and many others have realized significant savings and are currently using the VJ-Advance for Airframe Inspections.”
The VJ-ADV offers a combination of high-end optics, portability, and features unique to the world of remote visual inspection, which makes it an ideal choice for the military aviation industry. The VJ-Advance is used in a variety of inspection scenarios, including turbine and airframe. You can see for yourself how inspections with the VJ-ADV are precise and efficient by testing it out for yourself at the 2014 Aircraft Airworthiness and Sustainment Conference.
Stop by and see Joel Riling at the RF System Lab booth #606 starting on Tuesday, April 15th for a chance to demo the groundbreaking VJ-ADV.
